We've all heard the old adage: "Even an elephant can be eaten if you take it one bite at a time!" Well, to be sure, I am committed to my new web-site. However, I am only just now beginning to appreciate how big this elephant really is. Nonetheless, I keep plugging along. I have now completed my home page, my ministry (or bio) page, and obviously, my ongoing thoughts (or blog) page. Also, I have just posted the contents of my favorite links page. Not everyone will care. But for those of you who desire to know where preachers go when they are suffering from "preacher's block" and need a little jump start, here are some of the places helpful to me. I will keep adding more links as I think of them.
My next project will be my favorite quotes page. Over the years, I have been sending out a daily e-mail message known as "YOUr Daily Connection". In so doing, I have amassed quite a collection (hundreds and hundreds) of thoughtful (and sometimes provocative) quotations. I will be working on getting them posted in the near future. As I work on this project, I am reminded of the words of Jesus in Luke 14:28-30: "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'
The Lord willing, I will get this project finished. Who knows? Given enough time, I may eat a whole heard of elephants. And I hope I do. Speaking of elephants, I read recently where scientists tell us that elephants in Africa and Asia, merely by their presence, create a whole ecosystem for other animals to thrive within. I hope the fruits of my labor here will one day benefit others who desire to be better communicators just as much as I do.
